Pfisterville – Welcome

Welcome

This is a relaunch of our website and blog for probably the sixth time.  This time, I plan on this being more of a journal as my wife and embark on our 6th decade (51-60) and our kids are moving out and starting their own families.  We have had an amazing adventure so far and have kept quite busy.  We will cover a variety of topics from travel, to projects, the family, and hopes and dreams.

We have been extremely fortunate over our years and hope to share some of our success and failures in the hope to impart some hard-earned wisdom and to continue to learn as we explore this world and this life.

If you are reading this, you probably already know our family, so I won’t introduce them now.  But I’m sure you will get to know them over time.

So – what is Pfisterville?  Well, twelve and a half years ago, we purchased the house that we are in today.  The home sits on top of a hill on 8.5 acres with beautiful rolling hills in the back, some woods, but mostly open and a small pond.  Over the years we have worked hard to turn it into our little bit of heaven in beautiful Frederick County Maryland.  One of our first projects was to build a barn, ourselves, on this land.  No real plans to have a bunch of animals, we just thought that this was a perfect setting to build a barn and use it for storing our equipment, tools, workshop, toys, etc.  This was an adventure in its own right and you can still see the old blog here.  It was at this time that we coined the name Pfisterville and put the sign up!  Needless to say, we have used this barn constantly over the years.  It has been the centerpiece to our Pfister Pfestival picnics, we’ve played basketball in this barn, served food, played frisbee, lacrosse, repaired cars, motorcycles, rvs, lawnmowers, etc.

Well, we hope you enjoy our banter here and have a chance to learn something from our tribulations.
